We understood Disney was making its very own on-need streaming provider, à la Netflix or HBO GO, but we did not know the title.
Now we do. Disney’s new streaming service will be named Disney+.
Though there is been a couple rumored names (it was misreported, at a single place, to be “Disney Play”), phrase of this name will come straight from the Mouse Home:
Disney+ will launch in “late” 2019 — which would make perception, as that’s correct all-around the time Disney’s remaining contractual ties with Netflix come to an conclusion.
Disney also dropped news about two new sequence:
- An as-of-but unnamed stay motion Star Wars series about Rogue One’s Cassian Andor, with Diego Luna returning for the position. It is established to consider place prior to Rogue One particular. This, of class, is in addition to The Mandalorian, the series Jon Favreau is earning for the provider.
- An unnamed stay-action Marvel universe sequence concentrating on Loki. Tom Hiddleston will return to the role.
